AI Image Iterations: Compare Changes One at a Time

Iteration is most informative when one thing changes at a time. Keep a baseline brief and record the selected workflow, model and visible settings. Then adjust one prompt detail or control and compare outputs using the same criteria. This does not make generation deterministic; it makes your own comparison easier to interpret.

Save a baseline that states the goal

Record subject, framing, background, light and exclusions. For an edit, include the source image and list the requested change separately from the details to preserve. Save the original prompt before revising it.

Change one variable per pass

If the composition is wrong, adjust framing; if the setting is wrong, change the environment; if an edit alters too much, narrow the scope. Avoid simultaneously changing the model, prompt, ratio and resolution. You will not know which change mattered.

Log routes and endpoint settings

Wan 2.7 Pro and Qwen Image 3.0 Pro publish distinct T2I and edit routes. Their controls are endpoint-specific. Record whether the request was generation or edit and note the actual form settings, rather than assuming a model name alone is enough to reproduce a test.

Use the same review checklist

For each output, inspect the subject, important edges, text, shadows and crop at the intended use size. Mark a criterion pass, needs review or fail; do not score an image “better” just because it looks more polished if it no longer matches the brief.

Keep evidence with the result

Store a short note with prompt, route, date and comparison reason. Avoid claiming that one prompt change always works; an observed result is limited to the tested case. If an output will be used commercially, verify factual details and permissions before use.

Prompt or planning example

Baseline: centered blue bottle, neutral background, soft left light. Pass A asks for the same scene with more space above; Pass B returns to baseline and changes only the background to warm gray. Compare crop and silhouette separately.

Adapt this starting point to the source image, destination and controls shown in the selected route. Keep the original where relevant, then compare the result against the specific details named in your brief. If a detail is factual, verify it from a trusted source before using the image.
