AI Video Duration and Resolution: Plan Before Rendering

Clip duration and resolution affect what you can deliver, but there is no reliable universal price formula across models and endpoints. Check the current estimate shown for the selected workflow before submitting. Treat duration as a creative choice as well: a longer clip gives more time for action, but can also make motion and continuity harder to review.

Choose the shortest clip that communicates the idea

Write the action as a beginning, middle and ending. If the idea fits in a brief shot, avoid adding duration simply because a larger maximum is available. A compact action is easier to judge and leaves fewer frames in which an unwanted detail might appear.

Resolution is a delivery choice

Select resolution for the place the clip will be viewed and the detail that must remain legible. A larger pixel size does not correct motion artifacts, inaccurate labels or a confusing sequence. Check playback at the target size instead of relying only on a settings label.

Read the selected endpoint, not a generic chart

Wan 3.0 Prime text-to-video currently documents durations from 2 to 30 seconds and 480p, 720p and 1080p choices. Seedance 2.0 text-to-video has its own duration and resolution parameters; consult its current endpoint page for exact values. A separate image-to-video route may offer different settings.

Estimate from the live form

Before spending credits, select the model and workflow, set duration and output size, and read the estimate shown by the active ImageGen Studio form. Do not infer a per-second rate from a different model or endpoint. If the form does not show a clear estimate, pause and check the current pricing/help information rather than guessing.

Compare jobs fairly

For a duration comparison, keep the prompt, model, source image and other settings constant. Note the estimate before each run and review whether the added seconds improve the story. Record the date because model options and pricing can change.

Prompt or planning example

Planning note: deliverable = a short product reveal; action = light catches the item, then hold; choose a duration sufficient for those beats; select a resolution for the target placement; verify the current estimate before submitting. No price is implied here.

Adapt this starting point to the source image, destination and controls shown in the selected route. Keep the original where relevant, then compare the result against the specific details named in your brief. If a detail is factual, verify it from a trusted source before using the image.
